Delft Island


Delft, Neduntheevu or Neduntivu is an island in the Palk Strait, northern Sri Lanka. This island is a famous travel destination in Northern province in Srilanka. We have to face a sea journey more than 1 hour before we reach to Delft fro Jaffna. 



There are some families live in this island and all of them are Tamils. This island have their own culture. 

Also island is rich with beautiful locations, wild animals and vegetation.

Wild horses can be seen almost in every area of the Delft island.



The island is quit large and you have to hire a vehicle if you wanna travel throughout island.  There are many places that you should visit in Delft. Places with natural beauty and places with historical heritage are there in Delft. Below images will guide you about those....

Malkekula Dola - Akuressa This is a nice water way which flows through Akuressa region in Matara district. We can find this water way when we travel in the bus route from akuressa to Dediyagala. If you travel from Matara it's just less than 2 hours journey to here.
