There are plenty of tourist attractive location in Ella. Lets go through some places that I have visited in Ella.

Most common activities of travellers is the rail hiking between Ella and Demodara. Its because of the amazing views in the rail road and the tunnels and the bridges in the rail rood.  Here are some photos of Rail hike from Ella to Demodara.

  • 9 Arch Bridge Demodara

When hiking from Ella to Demodara we reach to a special place called Nine arch bridge. This is famouse because of two reason. One is the beauty and the views of the bridge. Second one is the technology used for building that bridge.

Length - 91m
Height - 24m

This were constructed under British rule by the guidance of a Srilankan engineer. This             bridge was constructed by only using hard stones. No irons was used.

  • Demodara Railway Loop
Demodara rail rood is famous not only because of the beautiful views. It's famouse because of the famous rail road loop.

The rail line passes under itself, going around the loop and emerging from a tunnel, which runs directly beneath the Demodara railway station. The rail loop is about 900m  long and the tunnel is 320 m  in length. It is considered the only loop in the world with a railway station situated exactly over a tunnel at spiral loop.
