Matara is my home town so I'll start my travelling journey from Matara. After reading this post you'll realize that Matara is a amazing place for travel than you ever thought. All the photographs in this post were taken by me.

Lets explore Matara now.. Here are some amazing locations in Matara that I have traveled..


1. Matara beach and Pigeon island

Matara beach and pigeon island is very popular among the traveelers as it is situated infront of Matara bus stand. Matara beach is a lovely beach which runs from old Dutch fort to brown's hill.


The pigeon island is small island situated in front of Matara bus stand. To enter the island we have to walk through a metal bridge built above the sea.  It became famous among travelers because of the awesome bridge and the Buddhist temple built on the island.






2. Beach Pool

This beach pool is situated in Kottegoda, Matara. When we are traveling towards Hambanthota from Matara , after 12 Kilo meters we can come to Kottegoda beach pool. You may find many amazing views around the area of beach pool. This pool is a ideal location for the travelers who love to do sea bathing. Pool is 100% safes and 100% natural sea water. Ranmihithanna National Tele Cinema Park Ranmihithanna tele cinema park is the only tele cinema park situated in Srilanka. This is established in Thissamaharama district. (Between Kataragama and Thissamaharama). This amazing place consists of both village and urban area back grounds which can be used for movies and tele-dramas. Below are some urban area backgrounds in Ranmihithanna... Some indian and Srilankan movies have been filmed in above backgrounds. The village and natural backgrounds created here are admirable. Many Sriankan teledarmas ("Koorale Mahaththaya", "Muwan Pelassa") have been filmed in the village backgrounds at Ranmihithanna tele cinema park. Malkekula Dola - Akuressa This is a nice water way which flows through Akuressa region in Matara district. We can find this water way when we travel in the bus route from akuressa to Dediyagala. If you travel from Matara it's just less than 2 hours journey to here.
