Sripadaya (ශ්‍රී පාදය)

Sri Padaya is also samanala Kanda(butterfly mountain) . And some people call it Adam's Peak. This is 2243 m high isolated mountain situated in Samabaragamuwa Province Srilanka. The sacred foot print of Lord Buddha is on the top of the mountain.

Many pilgrims and travelers come to climb and worship Sripada. Many pilgrims follow some traditions that are unique to Sripada. The picture below is one of them. (a tradition belong with needle and tread)

Buddhist Temple on the top of the mountain..

There are several paths from several towns to climb Sripada. (such as Rathnapura road, Hattern road, Kuruwita road)

Four main rivers of Srilanka starts from this mountain. (Mahaweli, Kelani, Kalu, Walawe)

It's worth to climb this Samanala Mountain because of following reasons...
